Please keep us posted on any developments. The number of GPU tests grows with the new versions of the tool. GpuTest comes with several GPU tests including some popular ones from Windowsworld (FurMark or TessMark).GpuTest can be downloaded from THIS PAGE. I really appreciate you sharing your experiences and observations with this project. Homepage - Download Follow Geeks3D: GpuTest is a cross-platform (Windows, Linux and Max OS X) GPU stress test and OpenGL benchmark.
#Opengl 3.3 mac how to#
Your setup has given me some ideas on how to give virtualization of Windows on my Mac to run Luminar another go. The ‘next version’ as of today, MacOS X Mavericks (10.9), will finally support OpenGL 4.1.
#Opengl 3.3 mac update#
I had a look at that project you shared and it does seem pretty neat. After openGL 3.3 became required I was no longer able to run it on my virtualized machine. Even OpenGL 3.3, a minor update that should work on all 3.2 camaple cards, is not planned for the next release of OS X Update : The ‘next release’ stated above was 10.8. In the mean time it seems like the focus is on getting WebGPU there to the detriment of ES2 support, so it’s another no mans land of which tech to adopt today.Īnother thing about WebGPU that I think could be very cool is coupling it with WASM/WASI, which as I understand it means you’d be able to get truly cross platform binary deployment. In a nutshell seems like Safari doesn’t really support GL ES2 very well, so you can either use ES1 which is ancient, or wait till WebGPU gets a good level of features and support which will happen but isn’t quite there yet. Update 10/23: I added the new late 2012 Macs to the list. Alacritty is a modern terminal emulator that comes with sensible defaults, but allows for extensive configuration.By integrating with other applications, rather than reimplementing their functionality, it manages to provide a flexible set of features with high performance. I was actually pretty optimistic about web based stuff but then I dug into it and seems like its just as much of a mess as current graphics library space, in terms of compat/features etc. I also assume that the Intel HD 3000 is capable of OpenGL 3.3 as 3.3 was intended to ‘backport’ GL 4 features that don’t rely on new hardware features to older hardware. Alacritty - A fast, cross-platform, OpenGL terminal emulator.

Just seems like a pitb to get going, which is why I’d really like some sort of framework or abstraction layer over the lower level things. One of the things that has been holding me back around Vulkan/Metal is the complexity as I perceive it. I don’t think there are any easy answers here. Also one of the great strengths of oF is all the addons, just makes it so easy to get up and running. I appreciate what a big effort it would be to move from opengl.
